Located on around 16 acres at Dakshinamurthy Sarovar, Therku Paappaankulam, Tirunelveli District, a serene setting near the Western Ghats, the Gurukulam plans to offer short and long term programs of study for guest and resident students of all ages. Apart from Yoga, classes on Sanskrit, Chanting, Astrology, Ayurveda, Meditation and other traditional Indian knowledge systems and arts, will also be offered. We are also planning to offer ongoing Yoga, Meditation and Vedanta classes on weekends which anyone can attend without prior registration.
We have acquired land in Therku Paappankulam Village near Kallidaikurichi in Tirunelveli District. We are planning to build a Gurukulam with rooms, lecture hall, kitchen and dining facilities for 50 people to stay and study. We are in the process of finalising the construction plan. Once we have a plan of construction we will solicit donations. Till then we are conducting online classes for those who are interested to learn Vedanta and Sanskrit. We are committed to Gosamrakshanam (Cow Protection) and have built a Goshaala (Home for Cows) to protect our Desi cow breeds. We are conducting free tuition classes in three places in South Paappankulam where more than 60 children are attending classes. To do seva in the villages in South Kallidaikurichi and help all under privileged and needy people with interventions in education, desi cow protection and natural farming. To offer a Gurukulam with a residential setup for learning Vedanta, Sanskrit and other traditional knowledge disciplines for interested people.
Aarsha Vidya Varshini has been setup as a public charitable trust by the disciples of Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati Ji. Jaishankar Narayanan, Kalyankumar Muthurajan and Srividya Jaishankar are the trustees. Sri. Jaishankar Narayanan is the Managing trustee now and is taking care of the day to day operations of the trust.
We will provide camps over the weekend for both adults and children for learning about our vedic heritage. In these camps adults will get introduced to Yoga, Vedanta and our culture. Children will be exposed to our heritage and values through stories, games and lectures.
We will also conduct short term courses which may be for a week to a month in duration. Here the participants will be taught Yoga and Vedantic texts, Chanting of shlokas and mantras and elementary Sanskrit.
For seekers of freedom who want to dedicate full time to the pursuit of knowledge we will conduct long term residential courses which may last 3 to 4 years. In this course the students will learn Yoga, Vedantic texts including Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, Brahma Sutras and Prakarana Granthas, Elementary and Advanced Sanskrit with Panini's Sutras, Vedic and Shloka Chanting and other allied disciplines of knowledge.
We are also planning to offer Yoga Camps to be conducted by renowned Yogis. In these camps partcipants will be exposed to Patanjali Yoga Sutras, Yoga Asanas, Pranayama and elementary Sanskrit.
